The Pineville Motets are three short choral pieces composed in loving memory of the poet, Mildred “Millie” Stiner, a long time member of the Forest Grove Presbyterian Church, where Peter served as the Director of Music for 13 years. Millie’s poetry was found by her children and as a gift, they collected the poems, had them bound in a book with beautiful calligraphy. The pastor at Forest Grove read the second poem, I’d Find Myself in Such a Fix, during a sermon and Peter asked the Stiner family if he could see the poems and set some of them to music. The Pineville Motets were born. The movements are I. Remembrance, II. I’d Find Myself in Such a Fix, and III. Singing, I Walk.
The motets are available separately for $2 each or the complete set for $5.
