Composed for the choir at the Princeton Unitarian Universalist Church in Princeton NJ. Peter was invited to sing at the church by the director of Music, Marjorie Herman, and he read the Covenant of the church in the bulletin. He obtained permission to set the Covenant to music and gave it to Dr. Herman as a gift. The church’s choir sang the premiere the following year.
